New Ad Positioning

You can now position your ads both on the top and the bottom of your mobile pages. Before this you could position your ads either at the top or the bottom, but not both.

Again, if you’re deciding which ad network to use, Google AdSense or AdMob, we highly recommend AdMob over AdSense.

Custom Domain Name

We moved the custom domain name option from ‘Site Settings’ to its own link on your mobile site dashboard under ‘Custom Domain’.

Just a housekeeping note!

Anyone Going to TechCrunch 11 in Boston This Friday?

Any MoFuse users going to be at the TechCrunch 11 party this Friday in Boston? If so, drop me (David) a line and we’ll get together at some point in the night. I’m looking forward to meeting some MoFuse users!

Google AdSense for Mobile

We’re really considering phasing out using Google AdSense for Mobile with MoFuse, but there are a few problems with doing so.

1) It is overwhelmingly the more popular choice here on MoFuse. To put it in perspective, 98% of all revenue sharing mobile sites on MoFuse are using Google AdSense. Only 2% are using AdMob.

Why? Probably because every user already has an AdSense account, and signing up for AdMob might seem to be more of a hassle for them.

Google AdSense for Mobile is paying out no more than .02 a click on an ad, while AdMob is paying out between .16-.50 a click. Not to mention the click-through rate with AdMob is significantly higher.

What do you think? Should we force the change? How could we convince our users to spend the extra 2 minutes to signup with AdMob?
