Categorize Your MoFuse Mobile Site

Now when you create a new mobile site using MoFuse we will ask you to place it in the best category.  We’re making this a mandatory field and we encourage everyone to try and place your MoFuse mobile site in the best possible category as it will help us to drive traffic to it!

Current users can categorize their mobile site under thir mobile site settings link and we also encourage all of our current users to take the time to do this so we can help you get more mobile traffic!

Your MoFuse Mobile Site Won’t Be Transcoded by Google Anymore!

Well, we’ve passed one major hurdle and your MoFuse mobile site will no longer be transcoded by Google Mobile Search! That’s right, if a mobile user finds your MoFuse mobile site via a Google Mobile Search, they’ll now see your actual mobile site just as you designed it — not the ugly transcoded Google version!

No word yet back from Yahoo regarding the Novarra engine, which needs to be changed. In the meantime we’re happy to say that the leader in mobile search now respects your mobile site design!

Weekly Roundup Jan 19-Jan 25

Second weekly roundup is here and I’ll admit, it’s a little bit biased! I’m from New England and I’m a Patriots fan so of course one of the sites we’re featuring today is related to that.

There were a lot of great new sites this week, as a matter of fact, too many to choose from. Hundreds of new MoFuse mobile sites were created this week and I couldn’t find enough time to sift through them all to pick 5 of my favorites, so we’ll stick with 3 for this week!

If you want your site featured on our Weekly Roundup then contact us through the support link on your dashboard!

What Types of Mobile Devices Are Popular on MoFuse?

Figured I’d share some information with you all on the most popular devices/browsers we see on MoFuse, and here they are, in order:

  1. Nokia 6820
  2. Nokia 6620
  3. Windows Mobile
  4. Symbian OS
  5. Motorola RAZR
  6. iPhone
  7. Samsung SGH-E690
  8. Sprint PPC-6700
  9. iPod Touch
  10. Ericsson K750i
  11. Nokia N70
  12. Opera Mini
  13. Ericsson P990i
  14. Nokia 6680
  15. BlackBerrry 8830

It’s pretty decisive, Nokia phones account for a lot of the mobile traffic to MoFuse sites, 4 of their phones made our top 10 list with 2 of them ranking 1 & 2.

What surprised me was the amount of traffic we get from the Playstation Portable (which did not make the top 15) and the iPod Touch, which did make our top 15 list.

Pretty interesting stuff, if you’re a mobile geek.
