1. ”16 Percent of Shoppers to do Most of their Holiday Shopping via Mobile,” from Mobile Commerce Daily

A new MarketLive survey reveals that…mobile devices will be heavily used by consumers this holiday season with 16 percent of consumers plan to do all or most of their shopping via a smartphone or tablet this holiday season, up from just 3 percent a year ago. Additionally, 29 percent of consumers plan to use their mobile phone to research gifts prior to a store visit, up from 12 percent a year ago.

2.  ”Mobile Now Over 16 Percent of Total Web Traffic,” from MarketingLand

Shareaholic presents some new mobile stats that show mobile traffic has climbed to more than 16 percent of overall web traffic…By comparison StatCounter puts mobile at just under 11 percent of overall web traffic in the US.

Mobile searches related to restaurants are more locally driven and more urgent than for categories such as travel and auto, with a conversion rate of nearly 90 percent, according to a new report from xAd and Telmetrics.

4.  ”56 Percent of Holiday Shoppers will Engage in Showrooming,” from Mobile Commerce Daily

The practice of showrooming is likely to play a key role in the upcoming holiday shopping season, with 56 percent of shoppers saying they will compare prices online using a smartphone, according to a new study from Accenture.

5.  ”Consumers Spending More Time with Mobile as Growth Slows for Time Online,” from eMarketer.

The shift to mobile is on. According to new estimates by eMarketer, time spent using mobile devices for activities such as internet and app use, gaming, music and others has more than doubled in the past two years among US consumers. This year, the amount of time consumers spent using mobile devices—excluding talk time—will grow 51.9% to an average 82 minutes per day, up from just 34 minutes in 2010, eMarketer estimates.
